Education

AREA provides educators and students an opportunity to network with their peers from around the world. Our focus is higher education in arboriculture and urban forestry, but we welcome anyone with an interest in teaching and learning about trees.

AREA supports arboriculture and urban forestry education in several ways:

  • Publishing a quarterly newsletter with articles about educational events, professional development, and announcements about scholarships, fellowships, and higher education job openings
  • Awarding travel stipends for students to attend the ISA Annual Conference and Trade Show
  • Supporting workshops, symposia, and conference sessions that advance knowledge about trees and urban forests
  • Advocating for the interests of educators and students in arboriculture and urban forestry
